Hyderabad: State BJP leaders, led by its President Dr K Laxman, met Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar and petitioned him against giving permission for the AIMIM rally at Charminar, slated for Saturday, Speaking to media here on Thursday, Dr K Laxman said, “In the name of protesting against CAA, AIMIM is instigating violence and disturbing peace. We met the Commissioner of police requesting him not to give permission for the January 25 rally.”

He further alleged that in the name of the rally, the party was trying to planning to create a Bhainsa-like situation. He came down heavily against Telangana police for granting permission for  meeting and rallies organized by AIMIM while rejecting permissions for the BJP.

“Whenever, we announce peaceful rallies, the police keep our leaders under house arrest. In the recent event where Joint Action Committee convener Mr Mushtaq Malik organised a Million March, it created traffic jams and inconvenience to the public.”
