Opposition views on Assembly schedule ignored: MK Stalin

Chennai: The Leader of Opposition, M.K. Stalin on Friday complained that the Assembly session schedule was decided without hearing the views of opposition parties.

Explaining the walkout of DMK members in the Business Advisory Committee meeting, he said the DMK members were not given a chance to speak in the meeting and so the DMK felt there was no need to convene such a meeting.
Speaking to reporters after inspecting the development works at Kolathur, Stalin said the slum board buildings at Raja Thottam are 44 years old as also those in Jamalia line.

The dilapidated houses should be demolished and rebuilt. The staircases and roofs should be renovated, he said, adding that he had made a request to the concerned officials.

Funds should be allocated for the works from the concerned departments, Stalin said. He indicated he was ready to allocate funds from the MLA’s constituency development fund.

The teacher vacancies at the higher secondary school in GKM colony should be filled and the old buildings in the school should be demolished and rebuilt, he pointed out. he noon-meal centre too did not have any facility and he had asked the officials to give the facilities.
