Adilabad: The TPCC is to mobilise around 50,000 persons for the Congress rally in Nagpur commemorating the party's 139th foundation day on December 28. The event is likely to see the launch of the party’s Lok Sabha elections campaign.

The party leadership feels that as Adilabad shares borders with Maharashtra, and Nagpur is just 200 km away it would be easy to mobilise and transport people to the venue.

Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka will participate in the Nagpur rally. The TPCC is to have a preparatory meeting at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Sunday.

Bolstered after the party rode to power, its cadre and second-rung leaders from Adilabad are enthusiastic about their participation in the Nagpur rally.

AICC’s Adivasi wing national coordinator Kotnak Tirupathi said that they were preparing their second rung leaders to mobilise the people and party cadre for the rally, including from Adilabad, Karimnagar and Nizamabad districts.

Recently, party general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal said that 10 lakh people will be participating in the rally.

It is learnt that ministers D. Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar will hold meetings with mandal, block and district-level party leaders in Adilabad district on December 25 regarding transportation of the public.

Minister Seethakka, who was made in charge of the Adilabad parliament constituency, is to visit Adilabad soon.
