HYDERABAD: BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar hinted that the BJP will raise the political heat in Telangana state and knock every door in the state during its month-long ‘Maha Sampark Abhiyan’ that begins on May 30. It give the message of development and welfare in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and how Telangana led by the BRS government was stymying those efforts.

The programme includes Lok Sabha constituency wise meetings in addition to door-to-door canvassing, and two large public meetings in the state. “The BRS does not want Modi to receive any credit on this front. Its 21-day programme to celebrate 10 years of Telangana from June 2 is yet another attempt to fool people. The Chief Minister is only interested in politicking and not in the welfare of the state or its people,” he said.

Meanwhile, the BJP called the BRS government in Telangana a ‘60% commission government’ as it sharpened its attack on the ruling party on Monday. Bandi said his party’s only goal was to defeat the BRS in the next elections and send “the corrupt government home.”

Addressing the BJP state executive meeting, Sanjay Kumar said the BRS government was a “caaru saaru and 60 per cent sarkaru”.  He said, “BRS MLAs have siphoned off 30 per cent of Dalit Bandhu funds, while another 30 per cent of funds meant for Kaleshwaram, Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya, along with real estate deals and construction of the new Secretariat, have gone to the Chief Minister’s family. It will not be a ‘ab ki baar kisan sarkar’ as the Chief Minister claims, it will be a corrupt sarkar of the BRS.”

Sanjay Kumar who emphasised on the BJP’s promise of providing free medicare, education, and a government job calendar that will ensure proper recruitment process to fill vacancies in the government, made it clear that these will be a big part of the party’s promises to the people for the coming Assembly elections in the state.

“We know what the atmosphere in Telangana state is. People have understood that voting for the Congress is of no use as that party’s MLAs will in turn join the BRS. The BJP will contest alone, and will come to power in Telangana. We will take the successes of nine years of Modi government to the people, explain what the Centre did and how the state government blocked these efforts,” he said.

Dismissing the Congress as a possible contender for power in Telangana state following its victory in Karnataka, he said the Chief Minister was unable to digest BJP’s rise in the state and is propping up the Congress. “He is picking candidates for the Congress where the party is weak and funding them. Congress lost deposits in Dubbak, Huzurabad, and Munugode bypolls. In the recent teachers’ constituency MLC polls, the Congress did not even have a candidate.

How can that party be an alternative in the state? It is the BJP that won in Dubbak, Huzurabad, and rose from 4 seats to 48 in the GHMC council and won the MLC election which is the true alternative in Telangana,” Sanjay Kumar pointed out.
