Kochi: Welcoming the CPM’s draft political resolution which focuses on joining hands with all secular democratic forces,  including the Congress,  to fight the BJP, CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran said that the resolution is based on a sense of reality.

While launching the ‘Chuvanna Geethangal’ CD  for the CPI’s 23rd party congress to be held in  Kollam from April 25 to 29,  he said that the Left parties in the country were assimilating the reality of the current situation.

“It is too early to comment on the CPM’s draft political resolution. But this is the time for Left parties to unite against the Sangh Parivar,” he said.

However, he denied the chances of  a political alliance with the Congress in the state while indicating possible support to the Congress in defeating the BJP at the centre.
