CHENNAI: The State Election Commission has directed officials to display photo electoral roll on October 4 across the state for the much-delayed local body polls. In a circular, state election commissioner R. Palaniswamy on Friday instructed election officials to display the photo voters list in booths concerned for carrying out corrections on the list.

The commissioner directed the officials to attach map of the polling booths with the roll. The commissioner advised the officials to do 100 per cent verification of the roll. They should release a supplementary roll for the missed-out electors and corrections of part and ward numbers, additions, deletions and corrections of names and addresses made until the last date of filing of nominations.

He directed officials to download the voters list from the website on or before September 30 and print it by October 3. The recognized political parties will be handed over the copies of the roll before October 5, and it should be reported to the commission on the same day.
