Hyderabad: The state BJP on Sunday decided to celebrate the Hyderabad Liberation Day on September 17 in a big way by inviting several Central Ministers to take part.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the party’s office bearers. TS BJP president Dr K. Laxman criticised Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for ignoring his own earlier demand of celebrating the event officially.

He said the BJP would hold a series of events from September 1 to 17. Central ministers Nitin Gadkari, Bandaru Dattatreya, Hans Raj Ahir Gangaram, general secretaries Ram Madhav and P. Muralidhar Rao would tour the state, especially the places where people fought against the Nizam.

He said the party would organise a public meeting on September 17 in Hyderabad which Union home minister Rajnath Singh would address. The office bearers were asked to coordinate the events including the proposed three-day tour of BJP president Amit Shah.
