VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has urged the people of different castes to support his party in the 2024 elections to enable him win power and develop Andhra Pradesh in a big way.

Any disunity among the opposition might help the ruling YSR Congress government to retain power, he warned at a public meeting from atop his Varahi campaign vehicle at Mummidivaram in Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district on Wednesday.

Currently on a state-wide tour, PK said, “When the state government got a hint that I would be visiting Godavari districts to fight for the farmers, it started remitting the money into their bank accounts for the paddy procurement. Even if I am not a legislator and not having power in my hands, I am able to influence the government. Imagine, if I am given the power in the next elections, what kind of wonders I can do for you,” he asked his audience.

“I am picking up quarrel with the Dwarampudi family but I am fully conscious of what I am doing. They are making huge money illegally and I challenge them to prove me wrong. I may not be having any Z or Y security cover but my deity Varahi is my protection,” Pawan said.

He took a dig at the YSR Congress government for giving all key positions to the leaders from Reddy community. “Why? Do you think the people from other communities are not having any talent? We need leaders who can respect all castes.”

Referring to the war between the PK and Jr NTR fans, he appealed to the youth not to mix politics with films.

PK thanked the Lok Sabha former speaker GMC Balayogi for development Konaseema region in a big way and said that he would take him as an inspiration.

Pawan said he was somewhat nervous to visit Konaseema region as the people were a bit ferocious, may be because their land was blessed with huge deposits of oil and gas. “Yet, I admire them for being just and honest.”

The Jana Sena chief lashed out at the YSR Congress government led by Jagan Reddy and alleged that the CM was taking away huge quantum of taxpayers’ money and giving less to the people in the name of welfare schemes and that his aim was only to secure his vote bank.

In a strong retort to Kakinada City MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy, Jana Sena chief said, “If we fight against ourselves, somebody is getting benefitted. I will work for the development of AP until my last breath.”
