THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state BJP leadership will face tough days ahead in view of the proposed visit of national president Amit Shah and other leaders to the state in July to discuss the preparations for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and other issues. State leaders, including president Kummanam Rajasekharan,  his predecessors V. Muraleedharan and P. K. Krishnadas,  state RSS leaders K. K. Balram and M. Ganesh were in Delhi on  Thursday to hold talks on the rehabilitation programmes for the victims of  political violence in Kannur.

Mr Amit Shah will visit the state during July 25-27 as part of his 95-day nationwide trip.   The Kerala leaders were summoned to New Delhi after the two-day meetings of the core committee,  executive committee and  office-bearers which concluded in Palakkad on Wednesday. Mr Kummanam maintained that the by-election was not of serious concern to Mr Amit Shah because  the constituency has only 27 percent Hindu votes.
