VIJAYAWADA: Hitting out at Jana Sena chief and film star Pawan Kalyan for his childish behaviour, YSR Congress has said that he should first elicit the view of his partner Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu and the ruling TD before proceeding any further on the Special Category Status.

“YSR Congress is committed for SCS and has been engaged in a long drawn battle in various forms and at different venues including national capital, while it was Mr Chandrababu Naidu who lacked sincerity on the issue and it is childish on the part of Mr Pawan Kalyan to question our leader Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy instead of asking the TD about their stand on the issue,” party PAC member and spokesperson Mr Ambati Rambabu told reporters here on Tuesday.

He also said that the party will move a no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha on March 21 after mustering support from other parties for the motion till March 20. The issue of no-trust motion had first come from the film star and when Chandrababu Naidu rubbished the matter, Mr Pawan Kalyan did not question his partner showing the lopsided and shoddy manner in which the Jana Sena chief has been conducting himself, Mr Rambabu added.

“One needs the support of 50 MPs to bring up the no-confidence motion for discussion at least and it becomes the duty of Pawan Kalyan, who campaigned for TD-BJP combine during 2014 elections, to first convince the home team of TD to get ready for the no-trust vote. Why is the film star shying away from asking Mr Chandrababu Naidu to take up the issue? It seems as though he is afraid of him,” Mr Rambabu said.

He added that the YSRC MP Mr Y.V. Subba Reddy had given a notice under Section 184, which has provision for voting after a short discussion, on SCS issue in Lok Sabha. “We have announced our agitation programme in the run-up to the resignations of our party MPs for SCS. We will picket collector offices on March 1 in the state and a march to Delhi would be flagged off by Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on March 3 while the party leaders will hold a protest rally at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on March 5,” he said.
