Murali writes to KPCC chief against rejig delay
The lawmaker went on to add that there is a move to squeeze in MLAs.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K. Muraleedharan MP has shot off a letter to KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran protesting the inordinate delay in completing the organisational revamping.
The letter says Mr Ramachandran was free to do what he likes as "certain leaders" were taking unilateral decisions without discussions.
He had failed to keep the two deadlines for KPCC reconstitution.
The lawmaker went on to add that there is a move to squeeze in MLAs.
He made a veiled attack against Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala for his attempt to include V. D. Satheesan, V. S. Sivakumar and A. P. Anil Kumar.
For long, he and 'A' group leaders have been clamouring for one post for a leader as legislators have been notorious for not taking care of their constituencies.
For quite some time, they have been putting pressure on Mr Chennithala for party posts. Similarly, Mr Chennithala failed to reach a consensus in his 'I' group on working presidents.
Mr Sivakumar has been relentlessly lobbying for the post. At the same time, former vice-presidents have been demanding not to appoint working presidents.
"It is true that Mr Muraleedharan has shot off a heavily worded letter expressing his displeasure. MPs K. Sudhakaran and Kodikunnil Suresh are refusing to leave the post. They have claimed that AICC appointed them, and KPCC does not have any right to remove them," said a leader.
After reaching here on Sunday, senior leader A. K. Antony has been besieged by leaders raising these issues.
"What do you do before an idol in a temple or church? Many of us, including myself, have raised the revamping issue before Mr Antony. We are hoping that the idol inside 'Anjanam' will show leniency," said a KPCC secretary.
