Thiruvananthapuram: Rumours are rife that BJP election management committee convener and Kazhakoottam candidate V. Muraleedharan tried to delay the chopper on Monday for senior union BJP minister Venkaiah Naidu's campaign for his trusted man, P. S. Sreedharan Pillai in Chengannur.
However, a much junior central leader Anurag Thakur was given chopper for campaigning in Palakkad the same day.

There are a plethora of senior BJP leaders like Venkaiah Naidu, J. P. Nadda, Nalin Kumar Kateel, Richard Hay who have been touring Alappuzha and Palakkad districts the last two days on chopper hopping from one district to another. Venkaiah is known to be very close with former BJP president Sreedharan Pillai who belongs to anti-Muraleedharan group.

However, Mr. Sreedharan Pillai denied to DC that there is no controversy on Venkaiah's chopper trip to his constituency, Alappuzha district president K. Soman maintained that the chopper was delayed due to the complicated process of issuing 'e-sanction' for choppers. Anurag Thakur had come to campaign for BJP general secretary Sobha Surendran in Palakkad and also in Shornur and Malampuzha.
