HYDERABAD: Taking inspiration from Chhatrapathi Shivaji, state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar called upon the youth to defeat the MIM in the state elections later this year.

"People have supported the BJP in the GHMC elections by electing a number of corporators. I request all the youth and people to extend their support to BJP to form Rama Rajyam in Telangana. We will defeat the MIM to protect our rights in the state," Sanjay said.

Sanjay said that the MIM had won seven seats when the population of Muslims was 12 per cent. “Hindus have 80 per cent of the population. How many seats will we win,” he asked in a speech at the Chatrapathi Shivaji birthday celebrations.

Sanjay also challenged the MIM to contest all 119 Assembly constituencies, and the BJP would defeat the party everywhere. “Old City is ours and Hyderabad is ours. When MIM leaders made a statement that we must take permission from MIM to visit the Old City, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao failed to take action against MIM leaders," Sanjay alleged.

Sanjay reiterated that a BJP government in the state would demolish the domes on the Secretariat which, he alleged, Rao had constructed to appease members of one religion.
