Tirupati: Tourism Minister RK Roja has dismissed rumours that she might not get the YSR Congress (YSRC) ticket for Nagari assembly constituency in the 2024 assembly polls.

Addressing the media at the Tirumala temple on Tuesday, Roja said the speculations were baseless. She accused the opposition parties of attempts to create confusion among the public. "The Nagari ticket belongs to me. Our party leaders and cadre know this," she asserted.

A final decision on my candidacy would be made by the party leadership. “I would work hard for the success of the YSRC in the coming polls irrespective of who the candidate is in Nagari.”

The tourism minister said the opposition parties were struggling hard to find candidates for all the 175 assembly constituencies.

Roja also said Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan lacked the courage to contest from one each seat. “They are strategically seeking two constituencies each, through surveys.” The minister predicted a sweeping victory for the YSRC in all the 175 seats.

Roja proclaimed herself to be a loyal supporter of chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, and expressed her willingness to make sacrifices for the party.
