Nizamabad: As per the BJP High Command’s decision to field sitting MPs from Assembly constituencies of their respective states, Lok Sabha member from Nizamabad Arvind Dharmapuri is likely to contest either from Armoor or Korutla Assembly constituencies.

Arvind appears to have been preparing for this since long. He had moved his headquarters from Nizamabad to Armoor. He has since made himself available to people of the area, especially turmeric, red jowar, and paddy farmers.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced setting up of the National Turmeric Board in Telangana state, it has increased the stock of BJP candidates in north Telangana districts, especially under Nizamabad parliamentary constituency.

Arvind has strong family roots in Armoor and Korutla areas. Party cadres are urging him to contest from these towns.

Incidentally, the BJP MP belongs to the Munnuru Kapu community. He would thus get support from backward class communities. BJP cadres believe Arvind Dharmapuri winning as MLA from Armoor or Korutla will be a cakewalk.

For the time being, the main BJP aspirants are Paidi Rakesh Reddy from Armoor, and Surabhi Bhum Rao and Dr. Venkat from Korutla.

The MP has been strengthening the base of BJP in Nizamabad parliamentary constituency, from Bodhan to Jagtial. He is concentrating on various social groups to garner their support in assembly elections.

Muslims youth are also getting attracted towards Arvind on various issues. Arvind’s family already has strong bonds with Muslims. Arvind is trying to harness these relationships. He has interacted with Muslim elders, including their plight in securing funds from the Minority Bandhu scheme.
