Hyderabad: Forget the talk of B-Teams in Telangana politics.

There is now a C-Team — ‘a Chor team’ — which, according to BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, is led by “BJP covert’ A. Revanth Reddy, TPCC president, and he will sell all Congress MLAs to the BJP after the elections.

Taking the BRS’ attack on the Congress a notch higher on Thursday, Rama Rao, referring to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi calling the BRS the B-Team of BJP, said, “the Congress is the C-Team, the Chor Team. Rahul should know he handed over the party here to a BJP covert who will take whoever wins on that party ticket to the BJP. You (Rahul) handed over Gandhi Bhavan to Godse.”

Referring to Revanth Reddy as ‘Rifle Reddy’, Rama Rao said the Telangana Congress chief was caught in the cash for vote case, and now busy with ‘note-for-seat’ business. He said Revanth Reddy “is a bigger thief than Charles Shobraj and Dawood Ibrahim”.

Seeking to deliver yet another blow to the opposition party, Rama Rao said Rahul speaking about corruption was strange given the fact that it was during Congress rule that corruption bloomed. “I can go from A to Z on Congress’ corruption. A for Augusta (helicopter deal) B for Bofors, C for Commonwealth and so on. That party robbed the country and even Rahul and Sonia Gandhi have ED cases on them in the National Herald case,” Rama Rao said.

Rama Rao was addressing a meeting of the differently-abled persons at Telangana Bhavan where he called on the divyangs to support the BRS, and called on the around 5.5 lakh differently-abled people in the state to recruit 10 people each to vote for the BRS. That will be more than 50 lakh votes for the BRS and that will be enough, he said.

He said Telangana was the only one state which is providing a pension of Rs 4,016 to the differently abled, and in all, the BRS government spent Rs 10,300 crore for their welfare.

On Congress’ failure to address the fluorosis crisis in the old Nalgonda district, he said every fluorosis victim in the state is a result of Congress’ neglect and unwillingness to provide safe drinking water, something that KCR had done. The Congress cursed us with fluorosis and now it comes and asks for a chance to rule,” he said.

Later, taking to X (formerly Twitter), Rama Rao continued his attack on Rahul Gandhi saying the Congress leader, who went up to Manthani on Thursday, should have visited the Kaleshwaram project, sprinkled some water from Godavari river on himself to wash off his sins, and learn how Telangana government took up, and completed one of the greatest lift irrigation projects in the world.

Rama Rao said the project is a testament to the will power of the BRS government to deliver water to people by harnessing Godavari river. At least now, Rahul Gandhi should stop levelling baseless allegations on the project and corruption of Rs 1 lakh crore on a project that cost Rs 80,000 crore. “You should also apologise to the farmers of Telangana for effectively destroying their lives for 60 years of your party rule here,” Rama Rao said.
