KADAPA:  A team of CBI officials questioned five people at the guest house in Kadapa Central Jail on Sunday in connection with murder of former minister Vivekananda Reddy.

Those questioned include Ramasekhara Reddy and Vijayabhaskara Reddy of Sunkesula village, Narapa Reddy and Subhan of Pulivendula, apart from another person. Sources say authorities have obtained some vital information from them.

It is understood a few more persons will be examined in view of new information that has emerged.

Meanwhile, the four-day deadline given by court for remand of Umashankar Reddy, YSRCP activist from Pulivendula, expired on Sunday. As a result, CBI will produce Umashankar before the Pulivendula court at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. It appears CBI will seek Umashankar’s custody for a few more days.
