Bengaluru: After a month long unsuccessful attempt to  woo the coalition MLAs, the BJP's state unit is now focusing on the coming Lok Sabha elections with its party senior leaders readying to participate in the Modi Vijaya Sankalpa Yatra from February 21 to March 19 in preparation for it.

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with booth level workers on February 28 and address  2.5 lakh workers from all 224 Assembly constituencies through video conferencing, the party is also readying to hold programmes like "Nanna Parivara, BJP Parivara,"  the Modi Sankalpa Yatra,  the hoisting of party flags on the houses of  BJP workers, the Kamala Jyothi Sankalpa Yatra, and the Vijaya Sankalpa Motorbike rally

BJP workers will be expected to take selfies of  hoisting the party flag on their homes  and post them on Facebook with the hash tag, Mera Parivar BhajapaParivar.  The Kamala Jyothi programme will see party women lighting a lamp in each booth.

Denying that the party had made any attempt to dislodge the state government, BJP state president, B.S. Yeddyurappa claimed it had been busy preparing for the Lok Sabha elections for the last two months.

" The media has reported attempts to remove the coalition government, but the BJP has no role in it . In fact, our  workers began to prepare for the Lok Sabha elections two months ago. Our booth level workers too have started the field work," he said in response to a question. Mr Yeddyurappa revealed the Modi Sankalpa Yatra would be followed by a  month long Vijay Sankalpa Yatra that will begin from Bidar in the presence of  Union minister of state, Purushotham Roopal. BJP president, Amit Shah will participate in the yatra at   Devanahalli on February 21.
