Union minister slams KCR\'s remarks that BJP had approached Kavitha

HYDERABAD: Union minister for Parliamentary affairs Prahlad Joshi condemned the remarks of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao stating that his daughter, MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha was threatened by BJP leaders into joining the party.

“His comments are absolutely wrong and there is no need for BJP to purchase TRS MLAs,” he Joshi said. Unable to digest BJP’s consolidation in the state, TRS leaders attacked MP Dharmapuri Arvind’s residence, he said.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Joshi wondered how the BJP could the BJP, which had three legislators, ‘purchase’ TRS MLAs. He said that whoever wants to join them, including K.T. Rama Rao and Kavitha, the BJP will welcome them. Joshi questioned Chandrasekhar Rao for skipping the programmes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Telangana. “Is he trying to cover up his misdeeds”, he questioned.

The Union minister said that the state government deliberately did not implement Prime Minister Awas Yojana, the housing scheme, he said.
