Fete not needed for Liberation Day: Nayani Narasimha Reddy

Hyderabad: Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said there was no need to celebrate Hyderabad State’s merger with India as an official event as the state government was was celebrating Formation Day on June 2.

Hoisting the Tricolour at Telangana Bhavan, he said the BJP, which was not part of the Telangana struggle in late 1940s, had come up with the demand to derive political mileage. He said BJP was known for divide society.
