HYDERABAD: The Telangana state BJP has alleged that the Telangana state government was considering a ban on the Bajrang Dal.

Party state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said, “Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao is discussing a plan to ban the Bajrang Dal in the state.”

Sanjay Kumar said after the Congress promised to ban the Bajrang Dal in Karnataka, the Telangana Chief minister is discussing a similar plan and “is now in a race with the Congress in Telangana state which he thinks will announce a ban like it did in Karnataka. So, he wants to beat them to it and be the first one to ban the organisation,” Sanjay Kumar said.

Sanjay Kumar, speaking at the BJP’s OBC Morcha convention on Thursday said, “No Muslim has sought a ban on the Bajrang Dal, which has not done anything wrong or provoked anyone in Telangana.”

In his statements that raise BJP’s Hindutva stakes in the state, Sanjay said, “Bajrang Dal only works for the protection of the Hindu dharma. Should we stay silent if the ban is enforced? If we stay silent, the day is not far off when anyone who says Jai Sriram will face cases and anyone who says Bharat Mata Ki Jai will be thrown into prison.”

He said, “It is the BJP that gave protection to Muslim women from triple talaq, a decision that was opposed by BRS, Congress and AIMIM parties. People from the Old City of Hyderabad should question KCR why their part of the city has been neglected. The CM must answer this question.”
