Bengaluru: BJP state president,  B.S.Yeddyurappa, who has started to build his team is not  surprisingly going with his old favourites, strongly rooting for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP and his diehard supporter, Shobha Karandlaje for the post of  general secretary .  He could also reportedly opt for Mr Ravikumar and former minister, Aravind Limbavali as other party general secretaries.

The RSS has already appointed Hubballi-Dharwad Prant Pracharak Arunkumar as party organising secretary .  Sources close to the former CM say he is keen to have a Dalit and  women in his team and  Ms Karandlaje is a natural choice as she has organising skills , besides being well acquainted with party cadres. “If Shobha does not get a place in the core committee, she will be among general secretaries,” said sources close to the former minister.

Although Mr. Yeddyurappa is reportedly not keen on including Mr. CT Ravi, the latter is said to have the backing of outgoing organising secretary, Santosh and Sangh Parivar leaders.

The Lingayat strongman could include Aravind Limbavali  as he stood by him during his lean phase. The party is  meanwhile  considering appointing another Dalit leader and former minister, Govind Karjol as general secretary. Incumbent general secretaries, Raghunath Malkapure, Nirmala Kumar Surana, and Somanna Bevinamarada are likely to be dropped.
