Centre moving on bigger Assembly in Telangana

Hyderabad: Newly appointed Telangana state BJP president Dr K. Laxman was told by the party leadership on Sunday to take steps to strengthen the party in Telangana in time for the 2019 general elections by taking up several programmes to reach party to the villages.

Dr Laxman on Sunday met BJP president Amit Shah and other party leaders.
Speaking to media in Delhi, Mr Laxman said he will would up take up office at a function in Nizam College on April 22.

Earlier Dr Laxman met Union minister M. Venkaiah Naidu at his residence and sought his support. The Union minister suggested that he take up agitations against the anti-people policies of the TRS government and also build up mass contact programmes by the party to strengthen it.

Mr Naidu told Dr Laxman that the law ministry was examining provisions to increase the number of Assembly seats in TS and AP as stated in the Reorgan-isation Act. An amendment to this effect will be brought before Parliament in the next session.
