VIJAYAWADA: Water Resources Minister Ambati Rambabu alleged on Sunday that Jana Sena chief Pwan Kalyan working under the direction of Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu created disturbances in Visakhapatnam as he was unable to digest the growing support for the Decentralised Capitals.

Addressing the media at the YSR Congress central Office here, he alleged that a “conspiracy” of Chandrababu to disturb peace in Visakhapatnam was implemented by Pawan and “he is doing politics like a slave to Naidu in lieu of packages.”

Rambabu said Visakhapatnam is the most important, very beautiful and largest city in the state. Visakhapatnam is a city that can compete with Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Chandrababu is already attacking Visakhapatnam in the name of Amaravati farmers and Maha Padayatra and now Pawan, by “taking a package” from Naidu, disturbed peace to turn Vizag into a riotous city. This is severely objectionable.”

The minister stated that the people of North Andhra and all the communities of Visakha came together, including students and traders, and participated in the Garjana rally seeking executive capital status for the port city. “Naidu wants everything in Amaravati as their lands are there.”

He said the people are against centralized development and hence they joined the Garjana despite the heavy rain. He condemned the alleged attack by Jana Sena cadres on TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy, ministers Jogi Ramesh, RK Roja and Vidadla Rajani at the airport.

Refuting the claims that Pawan's arrest was illegal, the minister questioned whether attackers should be honoured.

Minister Rambabu alleged that Pawan conducted a road show in a top-open vehicle without any permission, flaring up tension and claimed that Naidu and Pawan should be held responsible for the disturbances.

He said in jest that the Jana Sena name should be changed to Babu Sena, “as it is following the directions of Chandrababu Naidu.” Or, it should be called a party that created unrest. The minister questioned why Pawan did not conduct Prajavani during the TD government.
