Vijayawada: The Telugu Desam (TD) has decided to raise the issue of the arrest of its president, N. Chandrababu Naidu, in connection with the AP skill development scam worth Rs 371 crore, in the special session of Parliament scheduled to be held from September 18 to 22.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the TD Parliamentary party chaired by party's national general secretary, N. Lokesh, in New Delhi on Saturday.

The MPs condemned the arrest of Naidu and resolved to take up the issue in Parliament seeking the Centre's intervention.

They alleged that Naidu was being targeted out of political vendetta and that the YSRC government led by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was resorting to politics of vengeance and taking up illegal arrests of its political opponents.

The MPs called for the Centre's intervention to curb such practices.

With regard to the upcoming bills to be introduced by the Centre in the special session of Parliament, the TD MPs said that they would study the bills and take a decision based on the party's policy.

The Parliamentary party meeting was attended by Galla Jayadev, Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar, Kesineni Nani, K. Ram Mohan Naidu, and former MP Kambhampati Rammohan Rao.
