Bengaluru: Annoyed with the repeated tweets of  water resources minister  M. B.Patil  on the failure of the BJP to get Mahadayi drinking water for Karnataka from neighboruig Goa, BJP state President and the party’s Chief Ministerial candidate B.S. Yeddyurappa slammed him  for playing 'politics' on the Mahadayi river water dispute.

Mr. Yeddyurappa tweeted that “Due to your (Patil ) politics,  Goa is relectant to come for talks over sharing of Mahadayi river water".

"After our efforts  Goa had agreed to talks on the issue, but  you put a condition to Goa,  demanding the full share of water and demanded settlement of disputes in one meeting. Is your condition in the interests of the state or for your own political gain,  Mr. Patil you should explain", Mr. Yeddyurappa demanded in his tweet.

"Goa had agreed for release of 7.56 tmc feet of drinking water to our state but you are talking about 14 tmc feet of water. Mmeanwhile Goa Congress has opposed release of water to Karnataka," Yeddyurappa tweeted.
