Hyderabad: Actor and TD MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna will campaign in the Telangana Assembly elections in support of Mahakutami candidates, say Telangana TD sources.

According to them, after completion of filing of nominations, Balakrishna will start his campaign. The last date for filing nominations is November 19. Balakrishna is likely to start his campaign from November 20.

With the TD deciding to field Nandamuri Suhasini, the daughter of late Nandamuri Harikrishna, from Kukatpally, it is expected that her brothers and cine actors Junior NTR and Nandamuri Kalyanram may also join the campaign.

Sources said that while Balakrishna would campaign in other constituencies, Junior NTR and Nandamuri Kalyanram may confine their campaign to Kukatpally.

Serilimgampally TD candidate Bhavya Anand Prasad is an industrialist and film producer who is close to Balakrishna. Balakrishna campaigned in Khammam districts recently and had asked people to vote for Mahakutami candidates.

The campaign by Balakrishna, Junior NTR and Nandamuri Kalyanram will give a boost to Mahakutami candidates, said a Telangana TD leader. Actress and TPCC star campaigner Vijayashanthi is already on the campaign trial.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and TD president and AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will also campaign for the Mahakutami. The campaign by these leaders and actors would have an impact on people and would help the Mahakutami, a Congress leader said.

The Mahakutami is planning to conduct a public meeting here which will be attended by Mr Rahul, Mr Naidu and others.

There are 24 Assembly constituencies in the GHMC limits which are dominated by people of AP origin and the TD will be playing close attention them. The party had won many seats in the 2014 polls, but was swept away in the GHMC elections.
