HYDERABAD: Despite differences within the party over unveiling of its version of Telangana Talli, TPCC working president B. Mahesh Goud asserted that state Congress president Revanth Reddy will release the design for the icon on September 17.

Mahesh Goud's assertion came a day after two senior Congress leaders were said to have written to the party high command complaining that the decision to unveil the Telangana Talli statue was unilateral and unwarranted.  Deccan Chronicle found that the Gandhi Bhavan Trust was yet to be formally informed about the installation of the statue.

On September 15, Revanth Reddy had stated that the Congress version of Telangana Talli, representing different sections and reflecting Telangana pride, would be installed across 119 constituencies. The statue, Revanth Reddy had said, would include local crops such as sugarcane and maize, in addition to reflecting local culture.

"On September 17, the TPCC president will unveil the Telangana Talli statue design. The song by Andesri will be made the official song once the Congress comes to power in the state. We will also change the vehicle registration from the current TS to TG,” said Mahesh Goud.

Mahesh Goud said that the TPCC would launch its year-long Vajrotsava celebrations on September 17 statewide and that Revanth Reddy would unfurl the National Flag at Gandhi Bhavan, the TS Congress' headquarters.
