Bengaluru: Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Jagadish Shettar, on Friday accused the government of trying to destroy the evidence in the case of DySP MK Ganapati’s suicide as it pointed to the guilt of Minister K.J George. “The CID has given a report, indicting George. But with the government bent upon destroying all evidence, even if the case is handed over to the CBI now it will be of no use,” he charged, speaking to  reporters on emerging from the state Assembly following its adjournment for the day. He also alleged that the CID, which had completed its preliminary investigation into the case and collected relevant evidence, had not been given permission to proceed further.

Asserting that BJP would continue its protest till the guilty were brought to book in the case, Mr Shettar said he planned to go with senior party leader, K S Eshwarappa to Kodagu on Saturday to meet Mr Ganapati’s family before stepping up the agitation for Mr George’s resignation.
