VISAKHAPATNAM: The local unit of the BJP filed a charge sheet on behalf of the people against Visakhapatnam South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar for not fulfilling the assurances that he promised during the 2019 elections. A list containing 14 charges was submitted to the Station House Officer of Two Town in Visakhapatnam on Monday.

Koppala Ram Kumar, convener of the south constituency, signed the charge sheet and said Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar contested the elections on a TF ticket and made several promises to improve the lot of the constituency. Though he changed his loyalty to the ruling party, the MLA did not fulfil a single promise he made to the people.

The list includes widening of the road between Jagadamba Junction and Old Town, modernisation of the old municipal stadium, promise of a three-story housing complex, resurvey of Wakf Board lands, urban housing scheme for Old Town residents, widening of the ghat road to Satyanarayana Swamy temple in the port area, prevention of pollution from Visakhapatnam Port Authority, and improving facilities in King George Hospital and Victoria General Hospital.

The MLA also promised to modernise the historic Poorna Market and create a hawker zone at the RTC complex. But none of these promises were fulfilled, as the convener said in his charge sheet.
