Being the Opposition leader in the Assembly, Shettar should have been the natural choice for the job.

Bengaluru: Is a battle brewing between the BJP’s Lingayat titans, B.S. Yeddyurappa and Jagadish Shettar? Sources said the former CMs have been maintaining a safe distance from each other. Mr  Shettar has reasons to feel disturbed as the party top brass has already ‘anointed’ BSY as CM if the saffron party rides to power after the 2018 polls. Being the Opposition leader in the Assembly, Shettar should have been the natural choice for the job.

The lack of ‘co-ordination’ was evident when Yeddyurappa stayed away from a press conference called by Shettar on Wednesday to highlight the failures of the Siddaramaiah government. On Friday, Yeddyurappa addressed the media and according to Shettar, he was not invited!
