Thanjavur: The MDMK general secretary, Mr. Vaiko appealed to the youth in the state to intensify agitation against proposed projects like Methane and hydrocarbon extractions etc. in Cauvery delta. 

He unveiled a portrait of late M. Natarajan, former editor of Puthiya Paarvai and husband of V.K. Sasikala at Mullivaikkal Mutram, a memorial for martyrs of Eeelam war in Sri Lanka here on Sunday.

He alleged that Central government was bent upon converting Cauvery delta into a desert. P. Nedumaran of ‘Ulaga Thamizhar Peramaippu’, T.T.V. Dhinkaran, deputy general secretary of Amma Makal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) and C. Mahendran, National administrative committee member of CPI, participated in the function.
