Naidu Arrest: What wrong Did My Father do to be in Jail, Asks Lokesh

Vijayawada: TD national general-secretary Nara Lokesh asked as to what wrong his father and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu committed to be sent to jail.

Speaking to the media in Rajahmundry on Thursday, Lokesh asked whether Naidu was sent to jail because he built Amaravati, completed 72 per cent of Polavaram project and brought KIA which provided employment to 25,000 people and several other projects.

He said that after meeting his father along with Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and TD MLA N. Balakrishna in the Central Prison, they had resolved to wage war against the YSRC government and to fight collectively in the polls in 2024.

Balakrishna said Naidu was arrested and sent to jail even though there was no signature of him in the skill development file. He alleged that land, liquor and sand mafia were ruling the roost in AP.

He said that when himself, Pawan Kalyan and Lokesh met Naidu in the jail the TD supremo laid stress on everyone in the party to safeguard the state. He said that Naidu was more concerned about the state even when he was lodged in the jail and wondered how the policy maker could be held responsible for any lapse. He also said that though Naidu’s name was not mentioned in the FIR registered in 2021, the YSRC government implicated Naidu in the case fearing that they would be defeated in the upcoming polls as people were against the government.
