ANANTAPUR: Ruling YSRC is confident of winning the two MLC seats of graduates and teachers constituency in Rayalaseema West, apart from the Kurnool local bodies MLC seat.

However, TD and left parties maintain that employees and young graduates have voted against the YSRC government because of the difficulties they are facing owing to the payment of wages, apart from unemployment.

There had been a huge turnout of voters both in teachers and graduates in Rayalaseema West. For the teacher MLC seat, an average of 90 per cent polling has been reported from all six districts – Anantapur, Satya Sai, YSR, Annamayya, Kurnool and Nandyal.

Graduate constituency YSRC candidate V. Ravindra Reddy is confident of his victory based on the successful implementation of welfare schemes, which have reached every doorstep in the state without any scope for corruption.

TD secretary Gundumala Thippeswamy has, however, maintained that the MLC election results will definitely teach a lesson to YSRC over its policy failures.
