VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam general-secretary Nara Lokesh has expressed deep concern over the “deteriorating health” of his father Chandrababu Naidu. “There is an undeniable and immediate threat to CBN's life. He is being deliberately harmed,” he alleged on Friday.

Lokesh commented, “Chandrababu’s safety is unquestionably at risk. CBN is facing a dire situation, dealing with mosquitoes, contaminated water, weight loss, infections, and allergies, all without access to timely medical assistance. The government is trying to administer steroids to him. What is it that the government doctors and administration are trying to hide? If any harm befalls Chandrababu, CM Jagan is to blame,” he said in a social media post.

Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneswari said, “I am deeply concerned over my husband's well-being. The government has failed to provide him with the timely medical care that he urgently needs in prison. He has already lost 5 kg weight, and any further weight loss could have severe consequences for his kidneys.”

“The overhead water tanks are unsanitary and pose a serious health risk. These dire circumstances create a clear and immediate threat to my husband's life.”

Daughter-in-law Brahmani wrote on her social media page, “Heartbreaking. (Naidu) is currently detained in inadequate and unsanitary prison conditions that pose a risk to his health. Urgent medical attention is required. Medical professionals have raised concern about his well-being. Timely medical care is not being provided…. We're deeply worried ….”

TD state chief Kinjarapu Atchannaidu said, “It's disheartening to see a great leader like Chandrababu suffering from dehydration and skin problems in prison. Naidu's personal doctors should treat him or he should be admitted in the AIIMS. (We are) concerned about Naidu's health since day one, as he has not been provided with the necessary facilities tailored to his health conditions. As a result, the former CM is suffering from dehydration and skin problems and his overall health is in a critical state.”
