HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP president and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Thursday morning ended his 24-hour fast in support of demands of the unemployed in the state for filling up vacancies in the government and unemployment allowance.

Kishan Reddy who began his fast at the Dharna Chowk at Indira Park on Wednesday morning, was taken into custody by the police from the protest venue and was taken to the BJP office where he continued his protest.

Soon after he had a glass of lemon juice offered by Prakash Javadekar, the elections in-charge for Telangana for the party, Kishan Reddy said the BJP will not let up its struggle in support of the unemployed and those cheated by the government which supervised botched recruitment exams – as many as 17 of them with question papers leaked in all of them.

Javadekar said the BRS government was scared of the support Kishan Reddy’s protest was receiving and with around 10,000 youth set to join him at Indira Park for the night, forcibly evicted him from there. “This is just the beginning and KCR is already shaky. The real picture will be revealed in the days to come and the BJP will come to power in Telangana,” he said.

Huzurabad MLA Etala Rajendar demanded that the government must at least now, sincerely fill up all the vacancies in the state. “The way in which Kishan Reddy was forcibly removed from Dharna Chowk shows how intolerant to protests the KCR government has become,” he said.
