THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mr  Shashi Tharoor MP has alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had  become a ‘non-performing asset’ and that his governance had  failed.   “Modi government is a barrier to the  growth of the country,” he told reporters here. Explaining the failures of the Modi government during its three years in office, he  said that his speeches and actions did  not match.   “Modi has renamed the policies of the previous UPA government to win the people’s support,” he said.

“Modi has failed to improve the  lives of the common people. For the first time in 14 years, the public sector undertakings have been witnessing massive losses,”  he said. He was accompanied by Ms Divya Spandana, AICC media spokesperson who too came down heavily on  the BJP-led government. She alleged that Modi government has been gagging the media  and taking  an anti-farmers stand.  “When farmers across the country have been facing a  harrowing time, Modi is busy with his foreign jaunts. This was pointed out by Rahul Gandhi three years ago  which has been proved right,” said Ms Divya.
