KCR betrayed Dalits: Congress

HYDERABAD: Senior Congress leader N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Bhatti Vikramarka alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had betrayed Dalits in Telangana for nine years.

Speaking at the Congress Satyagraha meeting held in Mancherial, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that  Chandrashekar Rao had cheated the people, especially Dalits, after promising the community members three-acre parcels of land and the CM’s seat. "Why did KCR fail to make a Dalit the CM in Telangana,” Uttam Kumar Reddy asked. “The BRS failed to provide even the Deputy CM’s post for a Dalit."

He promised that if the Congress was voted to power, the party would stop the privatisation of the Singareni Collieries and would regularise the jobs of 30,000 contract workers there. The BRS and BJP had failed to provide basic facilities to the people in the country, he said.

CLP Leader Bhatti Vikramarka alleged that the BJP and BRS had damaged democracy. The BJP had deliberately disqualified Rahul Gandhi as MP and the satyagraha was organised to educate the people of the situation and the need to bring the Congress to power, Bhatti said.
