Puducherry: Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi is all set to make a change in the top officials of Puducherry State Co-operative Banks (PSCBs) in the Union Territory with officials from Nabard.

The Lt Governor who paid a surprise visit to the bank after receiving an anonymous message from an employee of the bank regarding the irregularities in the administration said that there is an urgent need for change in the leadership as they are not capable of leading the society.

The bank has 27 branches in Puducherry and the administrators are being appointed under Puducherry Cooperative Society Act 1972.

The Lt Governor said that Nabard has asked six weeks time to bring in an MD and a GM for the bank on deputation.

The Lt Governor said that the surprise visit to the bank revealed that yet again some of the officials in senior supervisory positions are not being effective in checking the decline in institutions under our watch, due to which these are either poorly performing or going sick.

The Lt Governor Kiran Bedi reminded the officials  that regular visits to the places of responsibility by surprise and planned are essential to keep personnel on their toes and to be a provider of their train-ing and other resource.
