YSRC making baseless allegations in Nimmada issue: TD
Ashok Babu asked YSRC to explain how Atchannaidu and Rammohan Naidu could win 2019 elections if their family has a criminal background
VIJAYAWADA:Telugu Desam MLC P. Ashok Babu on Saturday accused YSR Congress leaders of making cheap and baseless allegations against the highly respected political family of Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, just because the ruling party leaders are unable to make breakthrough against TD in the Srikakulam district.
Ashok Babu asked YSRC to explain how Atchannaidu and Rammohan Naidu could win 2019 elections if their family came from a criminal background, as being alleged by the YSRC.
Addressing a press conference here, the TD MLC went on to accuse YSRC leader Duvvada Srinivas of now using objectionable language after minister Kodali Nani has been silenced owning to restrictions placed on him by the poll body. He recalled how Srinivas had failed to win the Srikakulam parliament seat and the Tekkeli assembly segment.
Ashok Babu alleged that Duvvada Srinivas is a known mafia don who terrorised people in Nimmada by sitting on a car bonnet and making objectionable statements, while his YSRC supporters paraded the streets with deadly weapons and axes. Ashok Babu maintained that Nimmada residents would have taught Srinivas and his gang a lesson, but local police had provided protection to the ruling party goons.
The MLC said it is Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party leaders who have been having criminal past right from the days of CM's grandfather Raja Reddy. The TD leader charged that in Kadapa district, everybody knew how Raja Reddy committed murders to encroach on valuable mines. Even Jagan Mohan Reddy has many cases lodged against him in courts, he pointed out.
