Chennai: Minutes before the Supreme Court announced its verdict convicting AIADMK chief Sasikala in the disproportionate assets case against her, another MLA from her camp shifted loyalties and backed acting Chief Minister O Panneerselvam.

OK Chinnaraja, who is a three-time MLA from Mettupalayam in Coimbatore district, extended support to the Chief Minister, giving a shot in the arm for the leader’s camp.

The decision was announced by School Education Minister K Pandiarajan, a supporter of Panneerselvam, in a tweet.

"OK Chinnaraj, MLA from Mettuppalayam (three-time MLA) declares support to #OPS Annan (brother)! Trickle turns into torrent," Pandiarajan tweeted.
