Warangal: MLA and Mulugu Congress candidate Seethakka alleged that BRS supremo and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, party working president K.T. Rama Rao and minister T. Harish Rao pumped in Rs 100 crore for the distribution of cash and liquor to the voters in the constituency to defeat her by hook or by crook in the November 30 Assembly elections.

She made this allegation during the election campaign in Kannaigudem village and Mulugu town on Monday.

She questioned the sincerity of Harish Rao, who had cheated the people during the Telangana movement by staging a self-immolation bid by pouring kerosene on himself but without a matchbox, for making the comments that she was day-dreaming about becoming a minister in the next Congress government.

“The people belonging to the 'upper' castes will not digest if the leaders of lower castes become ministers. That is why they are insulting us. If I become a minister, there will be a lot of scope to develop the constituency. So, what is wrong if a leader like me dreams of becoming a minister,” she asked.

She told the voters to take the money to be distributed by BRS leaders in the constituency as it was looted from the people of Telangana in the last ten years by the BRS government. And, check the currency notes while taking if they are real or fake, she quipped.

She claimed that she worked for the people of the Mulugu in hard times such as the Covid-19 pandemic and floods.

Slamming “money politics” by the ruling party, the MLA said that if the BRS won, money would win. But, if Seethakka won, it would be people’s victory.

She exuded confidence that the people would teach a lesson to BRS and support Congress, which had formed Telangana state by understanding the plight of the people.
