Voters from a fairly urbanised mandal of Munugode constituency have just learnt the hard way that their unwillingness to vote for the TRS is leading to an unexpected backlash from the party. Soon after TRS candidate K. Prabhakar Reddy won the bypoll some TRS leaders and cadres called on a minister, who was among the 100-plus party leaders given targets for each village and mandal in the constituency.

The minister in question was not very happy with the votes cast for the TRS candidate from his jurisdiction. And so, when some TRS leaders and their followers called on him asking him about the way forward on the promises made, they were bluntly told that the people don’t really have a right to ask for anything, as not even 50 per cent of them from the mandal had voted for the TRS.
