Jagan names Davuluri Dorababu as candidate for Peddapuram

Kakinada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced the name of Dovuluri Dorababu as the YSRC candidate for the Peddapuram Assembly polls.

After inaugurating the Jagananna Housing Colony at Samalkot and unveiling the statue of former chief minister late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Jagan Mohan Reddy noted at a huge public meeting that Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan had been defeated in Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka constituencies in the 2019 elections.

“Pawan Kalyan treats constituencies as casual instruments and adopts the ‘use and throw’ tactics. He is not interested in the welfare of the people,” the CM said, adding, “This cine actor comes to Andhra Pradesh in gaps between his shooting schedules and returns. He never cared for the development of AP or the welfare of the state’s poor.”

He said, “ Dorababu has not contested elections from Peddapuram. He strived hard for development of the constituency and constructed buildings for Village Secretaries and also helped build the beautiful Jagananna Housing Colony.”

Jagan Mohan Reddy urged the people of the constituency to bless Dorababu in the coming elections. “He will develop the constituency more. As per a plea from Dorababu, I would release funds for construction of a bridge and creation of infrastructure facilities in Jagananna housing colonies and also the secretariat buildings,” he said.

The CM said he would upgrade the junior college to a degree college soon.

He said the YSRC government was paying full attention to the welfare of the people, in particular the poor, and implementing the schemes without bribe or corruption. “Volunteers are paying pension to the beneficiaries in the early hours of the day on the first of the month. I appreciate the volunteers for their services to the people.”

Dorababu thanked the CM for announcing his candidature. He said there was no development to Peddapuram constituency during the term of MLA Nimmakayala Chinarajappa. When Chandrababu came to Peddapuram, he mocked Jagan Mohan Reddy at a public meeting. But, now he is in Sneha block, which his government had constructed in the central jail at Rajamahendravaram.”
