KURNOOL: TD state general secretary Somisetty Venkateswarlu on Wednesday accused Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of betraying Rayalaseema people by turning Ratanalaseema into Ralla Seema.

Addressing media here, Venkateswarlu wondered why the CM has not blocked construction of the Upper Bhadra project in Karnataka, despite having support of AP’s 151 MLAs, 21 MPs and Rajya Sabha members. He said by not exerting pressure on the central government, Jagan Mohan Reddy has compromised state's interests.

The TD leader feared that construction of Upper Bhadra will deprive Rayalaseema people of drinking and irrigation water needs. He asked MLAs and MPs from Rayalaseema to take a stand against illegal projects being built in upstream Karnataka.
