Chennai: A petition has been filed in the Madras high court to direct the police to take action on a complaint against state minister K.C.Veeramani and businessman J.Sekar alias Sekar Reddy in connection with a alleged property dispute.

Justice K.Ravichandrabaabu before whom the petition filed by B.Ramamoorthy and J.Jayaprakash came up for hearing, adjourned it after a week, after advocate Govindasamy, took notice for the minister and sought time to get instructions.

Petitioner's counsel N.Chandrasekar submitted that the petitioners were in possession and enjoyment of a property measuring 6 acres and 90 cents in Vellore district pursuant to a lease agreement from 2010. By spending huge amount, the petitioners have increased the value of the property. In the meanwhile, the original owner sold the property. The purchaser agreed to pay Rs 225 crore but demanded vacant land, as a result of which, there was a settlement talk between the petitioners and Sekar Reddy and other investors. While so, Sekar Reddy allegedly with the help of the state minister, was attempting to evict the petitioners from the said property and threatened the petitioners to vacate the property. Therefore, the petitioners gave complaints on three occasions. But, there was no action, he added.

Vehemently opposing the prayer, state public prosecutor A.Natarajan questioned the very maintainability of the petition.
