Hyderabad: Congress leaders demanded a CBI or CVC inquiry into the corruption in power purchases by the TS government.

Congress MLAs A. Revanth Reddy and Sampath Kumar said they were ready to prove corruption in power purchases with documentary evidence. Revanth added that if proved wrong he would ‘rub his nose to the ground at Abids centre’.

Challenging TRS leaders for an open discussion on power purchases, the duo along with party leaders went to Martyr’s Memorial at Gun Park in front of the assembly on Friday and ‘waited for TRS leaders’.

Later, they told reporters that at the time of bifurcation, TS was allotted 53.89 per cent power allocation and the credit for that went to AICC former president Sonia Gandhi.

They said the TRS government has indulged in corruption not only in power purchases, but also in the setting up of Bhadradri and Yadadri power plants.
