HYDERABAD: Union minister G. Kishan Reddy on Monday reminded Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of his past statements on fertiliser subsidy.  Reddy used the recent decision of the ministry of finance to seek Parliament's nod for an additional spending of Rs 3.25 lakh crore for the purpose.

After the Union Budget, the Chief Minister had pointed out that the fertiliser subsidy had been slashed from Rs 1.4 lakh crore to Rs 1.05 lakh crore.
Recently, minister of state for finance Pankaj Chaudhary tabled the first batch of supplementary demands for grants in the Lok Sabha. This included an additional spending request of Rs 1.09 lakh crore towards fertiliser subsidy payout.

Taking to Twitter, Kishan Reddy posted a video of Rao and himself speaking after the Budget announcement. While the Chief Minister is pointing out a reduction in the budget by Rs 35,000 crore, Reddy is speaking about initial and revised estimates. The Union minister is seen stating that 100 per cent of fertiliser subsidy is borne by the Centre.
