KARIMNAGAR: Huzurabad police registered a case against BJP candidate for the by-elections Etala Rajendar for conducting a meeting in violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in Huzurabad on Monday.

Circle inspector of Huzurabad town police station, V.Srinivas informed that as per the complaint lodged by the flying squad, a case was registered against Rajendar for conducting street-corner meetings with more than the permitted number (50) of people. The case was registered under Section 188 IPC and Section 51(b) Disaster Management Act 2005, he added.

Stringent action will be taken against candidates who violate law and MCC, he warned.
