Vijayawada: Telugu Desam leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneswari has raised fears about the lack of proper security for him at the Central Prison in Rajahmundry.

Bhuvaneswari, along with son Nara Lokesh and daughter-in-law Brahmani met the TD chief in the central prison on Tuesday. Later, she told the media that her husband required more amenities befitting his political stature. He had to take his bath in cold water, she said.

“He is thinking of how to come out of jail and continue serving the people. When I asked him about his health, he said he was well and told us not to worry about him,” she said.

She said that Naidu wanted to see AP developed as the No.1 state in the country. “Whenever I tried to talk to him about our family matters, he would say the people were his first preference.”

Bhuvaneswari called upon the people to come out and extend their support to Naidu in his fight for their freedom and rights. She expressed concern over the way he was placed in the Central Prison, which was built by Naidu himself while as chief minister.

She turned emotional by saying that when she was taking leave of him after a brief chat in the prison, she felt a part of her body was left with him.

“I tell the people and the party cadre that the Telugu Desam was founded by NTR and it would go nowhere else. Our family would stand for the people and the cadre and shall fight for them. The party will overcome all odds. This is the assurance I want to give you all on behalf of our family,” she said.
